PART 1: TERMS / CANCELLATION & PAYMENT POLICY

Fees

Polygraph examination fees vary depending on the type and complexity of the examination.

Before an appointment is scheduled, the circumstances of the examination will be reviewed and you will be informed of the total examination fee in advance.

There are no fees based on whether an examinee passes or fails an examination. The fee is for the examiner’s professional time, preparation, examination, analysis, and any agreed-upon reporting – not for a particular result. California Association of Polygraph Examiners (CAPE) standards prohibit fees contingent upon findings or results.

Scheduling and Deposit

Before scheduling, the circumstances of the requested examination will be reviewed to determine whether the matter is appropriate for polygraph testing.

Once the examination has been accepted, you will receive the confirmed examination fee, available appointment times, preparation instructions, and a secure payment option.

A 50% scheduling deposit is required to reserve private examination appointments. The remaining balance must be paid before the examination begins.

Cancellations and Rescheduling

Appointments may be rescheduled, or the scheduling deposit refunded, with at least 48 hours’ notice.

If you cancel an examination less than 48 hours before the scheduled appointment, the scheduling deposit is non-refundable.

Failure to appear for a scheduled examination may result in forfeiture of the deposit or examination fee.

If SF Bay Polygraph must cancel or reschedule an examination, any payment received may be transferred to a new appointment or refunded, at the client’s preference.

Attorney, Institutional, and Professional Billing

Attorney-referred or other professional cases may require additional preparation, documentation, records review, consultation, or reporting, and are quoted based on the examination requested.

Alternative billing arrangements may be available for established law firms, private investigation agencies, treatment providers, businesses, government agencies, and other professional referral sources. Please contact SF Bay Polygraph before submitting payment if institutional billing is requested.

Travel Examinations

Travel examinations may be available throughout California and in other jurisdictions where legally permitted. Travel expenses and any additional travel fee will be disclosed and agreed upon before the examination is scheduled.

Payment

Please do not submit payment until your examination has been discussed and the examination fee has been confirmed.

Not addressed anywhere in current site text – flagged, not decided:
  • What happens on force majeure (illness, emergency) as an exception to the 48-hour rule
  • Whether partial refunds are ever available, or the outcome is always all-or-nothing

These stay open until she comments. Not blocking – the document is otherwise complete and usable as written.
